I Live Chatted with a Samsung rep who said Kies won't work with any OS higher than 5. My solution was to firstly install Kies, which once installed and connected to the Note, prompted me to upgrade the firmware and/or Android from 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 via the USB cable as it wouldn't upgrade over the air/wi-fi. Exact feature availability may vary by model and is subject to change. I was going to back up my S5 using Kies, and a pop-up appeared for SmartSwitch.
